In the not too distant future I will be buying a PA14 but I will need to store it outside in my back yard (NY) over the winter. Does anybody have a suggestion on how it should be stored.

I would say standing up would be the most preferred method for long term storage. If you can cover it with a breathable cover that won't trap moisture, that would help too. If you cannot have it standing than probably just laying flat. I would say your first concern is keeping snow/water off of the kayak to avoid getting water in places that could be damaged when water freezes and expands. I haven't heard of any specific recommendations from Hobie about storing in below freezing temperatures.

If you go to the HObie PA 14 usuer manual on page 21 it states: Storage and Transportation it says to sotre out of the weather and shows a picture of a roof line in the picture to imply that is should be stored inside and not in sunshine or in winter conditions... so you might want to consider this before buying. Here is the website for the whole manual. <http://static.hobiecat.com/digital_assets/89511-pro-angler-manual-140325.pdf> Hope this helps. Good Luck
