Can anyone tell me if the rudder control handle on a PA can be turned around so that the long end is facing the rear of the boat? I rented one recently and spent some time paddling it. My paddle hung up under the handle several times and just wanted to see if thats possible.

On my 2013 PA-14, the answer is no because the handle "nests" into the plastic bracket that also holds the elevated, horizontal aluminum tube.

If you buy or rent a PA 14, ask for the longer paddle. The PA 14 is very wide and a longer paddle will help get a better reach to each side without have to rock you body from side to side for the reach. Just my 2 Cents worth. Good Luck
