Found a place to mount the LSS2 where it is sort of protected and I didn't have to drill any holes nor mess with deployed arms.
Basically removed the 2015 skeg, fabricated a new plate from cutting board, fitted more cutting board in the transom ducer bracket and cut another piece of cutting board to wedge between ducer and the skeg retract area in hull to force the back angle of the ducer more parallel to the water. The cable for the ducer runs up the new scupper hole in the rear cargo area for the skeg.

Nice work.
Maybe next year Hobie will make a bracket specifically for SideImaging transducers.
