Diagnosing potential leak in hull

Diagnosing potential leak. I've done a breif search on the forum and apologize if this has already been covered. I have a 2011 pa14 and the last 2 outings I have had a cup of water on the hull. No rain or water over the front hatch. I stopped using the scupper cart 2 years ago. I trailer with PVC bunks. When I get back from this trip I'm going to get it out in the yard with nothing on it for a thorough inspection and maybe fill the hull with water.

Any advice or experience dealing with this problem is appreciated.

First... don't fill the hull with water. The weight can damage the hull. Easier and safer to use air pressure and soapy water.

I just got done drying it out and putting it in the water at a ramp that I could stick my head inside the hatches and look. Saw nothing. It was only in the water for 10 minutes, but saw nothing. I took the drain plugs out and put them back. Maybe the o rings weren't seated. I'm going out for a few hours in the morning.

Ok, I went through the process recommended to find a leak and couldn't find any damage to my hull or any leaks. I was about to give up when I found this.


I believe this is the source of my water in the hull.

Is it missing this fitting?



If I am correct, where do I get this part?

No fitting required there. It does not lead to the interior of the hull. It goes to the steering drum area on the deck.
