How/where do you recommend securing the H Crate to a 17t? Would love to hear from any 17th owners who have an H crate. Thanks.

The 17t has some mounts on the back part of the kayak. I noticed that the outside mounts are slightly angled. Are these used for a certain purpose? I am thinking of using those to secure the H Crate, but I don't think it would be wise to leave the other two corners of the crate unsecured to anything.

That being said, I think the rear corners of the 17t are hollow. How hard would it be to add the same mounts to the back of the kayak?

Looking for options here. Thanks.

If you scroll through these photo's, http://www.hobiecat.com/mirage/mirage-pro-angler-17/ where the guy is standing on his seat "poling" in shallow water, it shows a crate mounted on the very aft of the PA-17....I think it's the new Hobie crate and it's secured to the aft carry handle.
As noted, it will not fit in the area behind the aft seat....only room for a large trolling motor battery or a "soft bag" to carry extra tackle, etc, etc.
Check it out.....

Dr. SteelheadCatcher, thanks for the heads up. I was able to crop the photo and zoom in. Looks like they attach to 2 of the 3 hooks that come pre-installed on the back of the 17t. Then, using straps, they hook to the rear H bar handle.

Nice crop job!
Did you also notice the location of the live well....just in case you were thinking about one?

Yup, a live well would be nice. But that is down the road for me. I enjoy fishing plastics more.
