Has anyone mounted the newer Motor Guide Xi3 trolling motor for a kayak with the 36" shaft on a PA? This past weekend I had a Hobie rep tell me that the 36" shaft cavitates water on rough seas and he suggested that I get the longer shaft version. I wanted to see if anyone else has this trolling motor and what their experiences were in choppy water. Thanks for your thoughts. |

I am looking to add an Xi3 to my PA14 also. I will be fishing in the harbor and off the coast. Really interested to hear others experiences. At the moment I am thinking buy the 48” and cut it down if it turns out to be too long. But would be great to know if I should just go for the 36” when the saltwater version becomes available. |
