Looking for a very simple but effective electric motor for my PA12. So far i came across the torqeedo and the E-propulsion spirit, which seems the better of the 2. Also i heard of the bixby but don’t know much about it.

For those that have any experiences, which electric kayak motor would would recome d

please keep in mind that convenience and speed of getting in and out is a high priority as i typically don’t have all day to fish.

I have been using electric engines on watercraft for over 50 years. The best ones out there are the Torqeedos. Please look back at the long debates I had years ago on electrics. The Torqeedo 1103 is fast. I get almost 7 mph on my Osprey 1436 and 6 on my PA. It is all inclusive meaning it comes as a package with the controller, battery, engine and all the mounts and stuff needed to mount it. It is simple to install. It is quiet. It is made just for the Yak so it optimizes its footprint, weight etc. It has many safety features built in so your yak doesn’t run away from you if you fall out and doesn’t run out of juice away from the ramp etc. It is the engine system that is most copied by others. I have tried many of the engines out there but I still think the Torqeedos are the best. That’s why my Yak fleet only has Torqeedos. Yes I am bias based on my experience. Jus sayin

I put a Saltwater XI3 bow mount on and love it. The spotlock is ideal for fishing.
