Hello - new to Hobie forum, long time Hobie PA12 Mirage drive 180 user.

I have a 2018 Mirage drive, I noticed the reverse wasn't moving the kayak while in the lake... Upon inspection, only one fin was swiveling to reverse, the other was not swiveling... Upon further inspection, the reverse cord appeared to have broken within the spine... The repair cost for a NEW a spine is $400, ouch... When I took the Mirage drive to my local dealer, they said I was the first ever to have broken the reverse cord in the spine??? I find it hard to believe as the cord seems so fragile.

Anyone else have the reverse cord break causing you to replace the entire spine? I've researched many sites and it appears most people are recommending the pedals be close together before switching from forward to reverse..

I love my Hobie PA 12, just not a fan of the fragile reverse/forward cord? Thank you for your time
