Rectangle Hatch in rear of PA14

Hey all, I'm new here and wanted to pick a few brains. I fish tournaments out of a PA14. I have a trolling motor on the bow which makes the boat very nose heavy. I was hoping to relocate the batteries for my electronics farther back in the hull to level it out. They are currently located aft of the front rectangular hatch up against the scupper tubes under the seat. I was thinking of putting a rectangular hatch in the rear compartment under my tackle crate and putting the batteries there. Has anyone done this or seen it done? What are your opinions?
