Hey Folks, I'm in the process of reactivating the Hobie fleet in the Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill area of NC. I've got enough interest to get a fleet going but the more boats the better. If you are interested in joining us please let me know.

All ages and skill levels welcome.

Great work, Garrett!! I think the Divison 9 Hobie 16 Championship at CatFest will be a great recruiting event for your new fleet. I'm looking forward to sailing with y'all there.

Awesome! I wish we could get something like this going around here.

Easier said than done when I live in Indiana most of the year and Florida for only a few months. This area has a good group of guys that like to sail but I feel like catamaran sailing should be much more popular than it is around here.

Ninety-nine percent of the failures come from people who have the habit of making excuses.

I'm no expert on how to do this, but I can tell you what worked here...

- Sail frequently and start talking to the folks at your favorite local sailing spots
- Go to a regatta or two and meet the cat sailors from your area
- Start a discussion on this forum about your localing sailing spot, set up informal meet-ups
- Post a message at any local yacht/sailing clubs that support catamaran sailing
- Check the NAHCA roster for members in your area
- Talk to your Division Chair
- Take your friends and relatives sailing and convince them they need a hobie :D

Be patient and you'll find some like minded people.
