No Forum for 'Island Images and Islands as a Photography Platform' should at least start with the gear we use, either Still and/or video. Here's a UK site that rates Action cams quite fairly (considering they sell all of them: http://www.actioncameras.co.uk/ For motion, personally I use an Oregon Scientific ATC9K. (I asked for it as a Christmas present, thanks Hon.) It features a tiny footprint, IR remote control, a hefty amount of supplied mounts. It also offers a 'sort of useful' optional GPS module that can trace your path as you travel and shoot. It also has an HDMI out with a supplied cable, plus a tiny 1.75" dia. built in rear monitor. Imaging quality is not as high as the GoPro, imo Still image quality is good not great. The all plastic construction makes me a bit nervous sometimes. It may be drop 'proof' but I'd rather not play Basket ball with it. Please let us know your 'weapon (s)' of choice. Consider also sharing your favorite Video editing software. Fred |
