Post subject:  Hobie 21 SC Sails

I'm the original owner of Hull # 206 (1988) of the original winged 21 (now called SC?). My sails were vertical cut ocean/sky blue, pink and purple. I have been trying to replace them for years with something hopefully as identical as possible. (The colours go well with the hull , blue tramp and decal and they lasted well past a decade, what else could I ask for). The last I heard, Hobie said they could provide new 21 SC sails based on the current year sail material colours. The 2005 Hobie sail colour chart seems to have purple and ocean blue on the Hobie 17 Sport and has pink on the trifoiler sail. Does that mean I could if I want order essentially an exact replica of my original sails this year as the colours appear to be available ? Is the current cloths on the 17 and trifoiler heavy(strong) enough ?

I am not sure I can face solid grey or bronze sails which are the only alternative I can find.

Post subject:  Correction: It NOT a Sport Cruser(SC), its the original 21

I got my SC , CS etc mixed up. It is not a SC. I don;t know what it is currently called but its was the original Hobie 21 with wings that came out in ~1998

We can special order sails and custom make them with the current colors available. The best thing to do is contact your Hobie dealer and give them a picture of the custom sail you wish to have. The dealer will forward it on to us and we can check to see if the sail selection you made is possible.

Thanks, Good idea about the picture. I will bring in your post as well as sometimes my hobie dealer may not be aware of what can be done given the age of my boat.

Post subject:  21se sails

If your looking for replacement sails for your 21se try Point Sails in San Diego. My friend Jeff ordered a set from them for his older 21 and was able to get colors close to his original set. They looked really good.
