Does anyone know where I can get some Hobie catamaran sailing lessons preferably near the Houston area? After pitchpoling my Hobie Cat 14 turbo at the lake this weekend, I have determined I am in dire need of some lessons.

If you are looking for lessons to do it better with more style, there is plenty of experience on here. IF, however you are looking to never do it again,,,, well,,, a pitchpole is a sign of "pushing the limits" well.... If you are doing that, i want to sail with you. fun, fun...
Main traveler out, main sheet in, jib accordingly,,, prob not locked in.... headup on a close reach in a puff.... head down on a run... De power as fast as you can and have some fun. someone will chime in here but, if high wind, rake the mast back as far as possible.

It was my first time sailing on a cat, so I will take any advice I can get. It's a free boat someone was giving away online so it is not perfect, but it works! I might try to get a passenger to help me weigh it down, but all my family and friends refuse to join me until I get more experience

Thank you! Last weekend was my first time out on a cat, so I will take all the advice I can get. My friends and family refuse to ride with me until I get more experience. I'm definitely going to check out those clubs.

TCDYC is on Facebook. They just held a sailing clinic. Look them up they have plenty of members willing to help new sailors out. Good luck. Also look up catamaran racing for the 90’s by Rick White. Lots to learn in this book.
