Post subject:  Tiger Worlds - Information on Trailer from East coast

2005 Hobie Tiger World Championships
Santa Barbara, California
March 28-31, 2005

Great News!!!!!!!!

Hobie Cat has negotiated a special rate with Landstar Ranger for a trailer to depart from the East Coast and make 2 stops, picking up Tigers as it goes on its merry way to California. Hobie Cat has obtained 50% OFF Round Trip Transportation for a 53’ trailer. This makes the overall cost of transporting boats from the east coast very reasonable. The tentative current costs for one-way is approximately $4,600. The trailer will hold 12 – 15 boats plus beach wheels and gear. That is less than $400 per boat round trip. Of course the final cost per boat will depend on the exact number of boats being shipped.

This includes the following:
• 53’ Trailer with cross racks to tie your hulls so they do not sit on each other
• Partial loading at initial departure point
• Partial loading at two other locations in route
• Trailer to remain on-site in Santa Barbara for duration of the event
• Return trip with same stops

We have not determined the final loading points yet but the tentative locations are:
• Mid-Atlantic Coast - New Jersey or Baltimore area
• Syracuse, NY
• Detroit, MI area

The final decision on where the trailer will stop will depend on who signs up for the trailer and where they are from. Those areas with the most boats signed up will get the stops. The trailer is scheduled to depart mid-March to arrive in Santa Barbara on March 25th with the return trip commencing on April 1.

More Great News!!!!

We are having a fantastic response to the Tiger World in Santa Barbara. We are receiving entries, hotel reservations and motorhome reservations daily. One hotel is already sold out and the second hotel will be shortly. We have made arrangements with 2 more hotels directly across the street from the first two. We recommend you go online to www.hobieworlds.com and make your reservations right away.

We highly recommend the motorhome program since the hotels are not right at the venue. You can park your fully equipped motorhome within yards of your boat. You won’t even have to move it as we have a disposal truck scheduled to come every other day to clean out the holding tanks and we have water on-site. We have plenty of room and it is only a 3-5 minute walk to the Yacht Club, restaurants and bars. Look at the aerial view on the website and see how close you will be.

Due to the response we are getting we have revised our projections on the number of boats that will be attending – would you believe 90 boats!!!!! Greg Thomas, who has been busily promoting the Event, is projecting over 100 boats. We already have teams registered from Australia, Hong Kong, France, Italy, Germany, Denmark, England, Oman, Canary Islands, Canada, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Ireland, Belgium, Holland, Sweden and Spain.

Don’t miss this fantastic event.
