It took me a while to realize what was all over the boat, I cant believe that! I complain when its 70degrees here. I sail in these pants I got along time ago, that are basically the same material as swimtrunks, but they have some 3M water resistant spray on em, keep me warm on the cold days, with a wind breaker, Im too poor to get a dry suit, so I just sail careful on those days.

I couldnt imagine capsizing in conditions like that photo! Death for sure!

Just a little update. I went out today with my new Ronstan farmer john, and my Murrays Dry shirt. What a perfect combination. The water up here is still just below 50 degrees, and I was warm as can be. The spray, and even the green water, just rolls right off the shirt.

As for our friend Hakan, that looks pretty irresponsible to me. Does he really expect to survive a capsize or equipment failure?

I don't know if I would call it irresponsible. They race hobies all winter up here, regardless of weather, unless the bay ices over. I would have been out with them if my boat wasn't in the middle of a refurb. It looks to me like the guy is pretty well equipped, and I'm sure he knows what he is doing

If he's out there without a support boat nearby, he could be a goner in a matter of minutes, dry suit or not. Anyway, it doesn't look like much fun to me. I'll stick to the Gulf of Mexico...
