2 by 8's x8' long with 3" PVC hole saw (3 1/2" dia). Work like butta. Just pounded the PVC in, no pins. Use dry pressure treated lumber if you don't want to work hard at the hole sawing.

that looks pretty slick. I may steal that design.

For what it's worth, I saw something similar once but the guy added flexible radiator hose around the PVC. It cushioned the hulls a little and was also just large enough to rotate around the PVC turning them into rollers. It was pretty slick.

My husband made a similar design three years ago. They work quite well. It is drainage tubing around the PVC pipes. The wide width permits you to "sail up it" when coming in. Easier to hit than a narrow one would be.

Saw those- amazing. I opted to cheap out, they ended up being $50 a set as they are. Mine work well, the are showing a tad of wear but I figure I can twist the PVC around if need be.

Has anyone else made similar ramps? Can you describe them or post pictures please!

I made some using pressure treated lumber and made them 18 inches wide. I drilled holes in the lumber, put the smaller diameter pvc through the hole and capped one of the ends. I then cut a lttle bigger pvc, put it over the smaller and then capped the other sides pvc. The bigger pvc then rolls allowing the Hobie to be sailed up onto land. I made 2 of those 8 feet long for less then $50 and use pvc lattice to move the baot around once on land

Do you know what size PVC you used for inner and outer? Do you think the rollers were necessary? It seems like the boat would just slide across the PCV without the rollers, but not as well. Do the roller "bearings" get full of sand? Did you glue the caps?

How did the PVC lattice work? that is a great idea?
