I was hoping someone could give me a tip on removal of rust stains.

West Marine Fiberglass Stain Remover (FSR) worked for me. Its a gel. Glop it on the stain and wait a few minutes and rinse off. Might need to do it twice for dark stains.

Anything with oxalic acid as an active ingredient will work.

Some are stronger than others. FSR is probably as strong a stuff as I would put on a sail.

Barkeepers' Friend and ZUD are powdered cleansers that have oxalic acid that aren't quite as strong (or expensive).

Just make sure to rinse the area thoroughly afterwards with lots of water.
