Custom pricing is in the back... parts list. Sails (H16) start with 2099XXXX

About $200 more for a custom Main.

Does that mean I could get a brand new Keoke?

Not all colors are available.... certainly no brown. That was awhile back.

Mix from current and recent colors. Check with a dealer. They can determine currently available cloth. All H16 cloth is 6 oz. these days.

Looks like the following is in stock (Not all in good quantity):

BARBERRY
CORAL
CRANBERRY
RED
DK RED
LIME
MAGENTA
MANGO
SILVER
TURQ
WHITE
GREEN
SILVER
YELLOW

No, because dark brown and orange aren't available. Also current yellow is much brighter than the one used in Keoke.

When I ordered a custom sail for my 14 (with one red panel), I was sent a swatch sheet with 13 different color choices (5 different reds). Talk to your dealer and get the current available colors.

If I were ordering custom Hobie sails, I'd spend a few dollars more and order a jib with stripes to match my new main. I always liked that about the vintage boats. I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings, but I've just never liked the look of a solid color jib with a striped main. To me, they look mis-matched, although I realize that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I think Sea Breeze is a step in the right direction.

Might be a dumb question... but would it be possible to source your own 'approved' materiel for color or two... and then have Hobie build the sail?

Not that it matters for me I think? I am thinking I may treat myself to a set this winter... and one of the recent blues (iirc) mixed up with some gray/silver almost like the "hot Tamale" with red would be awesome? I think the one I like was called "Misty".. 2004-2005ish?

Or maybe even recreate the spirit of 76... or USMC theme?

Or worse.. I guess a rebel flag wouldn't be impossible? haaha... just kidding...

I would love me some black pirate rags though.. :P

With custom sails could stripes be added like a 1984 Summer Nats, or Blue Hawaii?

What are the rules about adding decoration to a Hobie built sail?

No, we only build sails with specific cloth specifications. We use rolls with specific width and full length to fit the plotter cutter table.

If I wanted to replace my "Spirit" (Red/Yellow/Blue) Wave sail, like last year's style, is that considered custom?

If not in stock. It would be a special run to do just one, so yes, custom.

I am interested in experimenting with the colors of sail cloth you listed in the above post. I am just not good at visualizing the difference between cranberry and barberry etc. and I am sure that there is a world of slack in what one computer "paintbrush" program might render as each. A friend of mine who works color offerings...would you possibly have those???...I think that would be the best way to manipulate and mix them on a computer overlay of the sails. Or failing that, do you ship swatches of sailcloth to prospective buyers?

I was asking for pantone (industry standard) numbers that my friend in marketing says may be available for those colors...sorry I screwed up the text and dropped that out of the above post.

These sails are way way way BLOWN OUT!!! but I still compete with them because I hate white sails.

If anyone that has another low milage set that they would consider parting with I would like to talk.

My '88 H18 has the 'double prizim' sails, two ROYGBIV (sort of) sections stacked in the middle of white sails. I love 'em.
I don't have a separate photo hosting account, else I'd post a photo of her.

Looks to me like the prism sales involve dying of the base color. For instance, I think the yellow-orange-red section starts as a yellow base. Is that in the cards any longer Matt?

Sadly, my prism sails are only fit for rec sailing now. Jib leach flaps like buzz saw and the main is so veerryy tired...

Now trying to decide whether to invest in a new main or save the money and invest in a step-up boat.
