I have a H18 and love it. Right now the people that owned it before me have put on a 6:1 harken system similar to my buddies on his H16. I was wondering if there was an easy way to convert this to a 7:1 system by adding an extra block somewhere in line?

If there is how should I reeve this system?

If it's the standard Harken low-profile 6:1 system typically used on the 16, then all you need to do is undo the knot where the mainsheet terminates on the dead eye above the cam cleat. Shackle a block to the dead eye. Then run the mainsheet through the new block and tie it off up on the boom. This will give you 7:1.

Thanks for the quick reply thats exactly what I was looking for.

Though where do you recommend tying the line too on the boom

Connect the upper triple block to the center boom bale and tie the mainsheet to the forward boom bale.

They also make a side arm becket that you can install on the upper tripple block (you drill out and replace one of the rivets with it). Worked great on my H17Sport when I converted to 1:7. Next time you replace the main sheet you will also want to make it about 4 or 5 feet longer.
