Apparently one H16 wasn't enough in my case. I just picked up a yellow hulled/ sail '84 nationals that I really couldn't pass up. Must say that feeding the itch more than anything is the need to have more sail suits. Count is up to 3 sets now: '84 Tsunami set, '84 Yellow Nationals set, '04 Seaside main w/ blue furling jib, and a while furling jib. I think the Hobie addiction is alive and well. |

If I had the space to store them inside I would have an M20, an F18, an F16, and a DNA. That's only about $100k in catamarans...... As is my F16 sits outside far more than I like. If I lived on a lake I would pick up another jetski, and I'd have to have a wakeboarding boat too. |

OLD SCHOOL 18 wrote: The correct answer = one more That seems to be correct! I keep finding them and reminding myself to get good at sailing the one I have before getting more. It would be a blast to have a couple so that I could race friends when they came out to the cottage, but I am going to try hard to not get another older one. After next summer, if I can get some good hours on it, I want to get a newer one and start racing. It seems like a blast. |

A less expensive answer: One H16 + many sets of (colorful) sails |

Cool post. Good to know I'm not alone.... 2 X Hobie 21 SE 3 X Hobie 16 (Looking for 1 more) 4 X Lasers I'm shipping them all to Mahahual, Mexico where I'm building a small 6 suite sailing resort. The aim will be to do what very few other resorts offer....well maintained fleets of one design boats with decent sails and a race course just off the beach. David |

I was a one boat guy Prindle 18 then end of last season I got a free H17 and I just picked up 1.5 Prindle 16's for almost nothing. So right now the backyard is a little full. I still would love more but probably can't handle any more right now. All but the P18 needs some TLC. |

My fleet is much smaller than I would like: '73 H16 11' styrofoam snark monohull 12' jon boat with '72 7hp sears outboard I know, I know, only one Hobie. However, if I could afford them, I would like to add: A Hobie 14, a Hobie Bravo, A Getaway, two AIs, or one TI, a Narca (just because the name sounds cool!), an H18, A smaller sized bowrider, and some kind of submarine. Even if all of these boats fell into my lap, I doubt my thirst would ever be quenched. After all, when I built my first plywood boat, I felt completely satisfied crawling down the river in a 6' rectangle with a trolling motor. But now, many boats later, I still yearn for more. |
