I'm looking for a good quality hand rivet gun that is capable of installing stainless rivets. I have a pneumatic for the house, but I'm looking for one to use in the field.

thanks,

The one from Harbor Freight Tools is reportedly quite good:

Only $20.

I got one of th HF rivet tools a little while ago. It works well, much easier to pull stainless rivets than with your typical hardware store gun. We'll see how well it holds up, but for $20 and a lifetime warranty, its hard to beat.

I've been using Marson Big M (no longer available-like a big accordian linked contraption), and Big D rivet guns for over 25 years and have never even needed to replace the jaws in them. They've popped thousands of stainless rivets in Hobies. The Big D will pop 1/4" stainless rivets into wallowed out corner casting rivet holes like nothing.

"Give me a place to stand on, and I will move the Earth." -Archimedes remark about the lever

The leverage of the Harbor Freight tool makes the work of popping rivets very short and easy.
