Hi all! I haven't yet posted a formal introduction. I have been reading the forums for a few weeks now since I bought my first Hobie 16. I have wanted one since I was a kid and listening to the fun my parents had on their mid 70's H16.

It's an 88 with White hills, tramp, and sails. All black mast and crossbars. Seems to have the original EPO white rudders- score!! There are a few minor chips in the hills and rude sets, but nothing some West gel coat repair can't fix. It is in really good shape and ready to rock. All I need is some trap harnesses for me and the lady.

Will post some updated pictures as I comets some cosmetic and convenience projects.

Thanks for all the info readily available!

Regards,
Jason T in Chattanooga

Welcome to the Hobie Forum! Theres a lot of tinkering you can do on these boats, even new ones if you are so inclined. Just a word of caution - make sure you do some research before you jump into fixing things. For example, many of the West products are epoxy based. For a Hobie, you want to make sure that you use polyester based gels, resins and fillers to maximize adhesion. Your boat is made from polyester based products.
