My wife and I are planning a sailing road trip starting in California and heading east, What are some good places to sail? I want to make a Google map of the best sailing lakes based on your suggestions. |

Lake Mohave, NV Dillon Lake, CO (just for the scenery) Lake McConaughy, NE Anywhere on the MS Gulf Coast or FL panhandle - Ocean Springs YC and Ft. Walton Beach especially Northern IN (Gary) - seriously, check out Dunes National Seashore West coast of MI (Lake Michigan) - St. Joseph, South Haven, Muskegon, Ludington North coast of Lake Erie (in Canada - seriously) Jersey Shore (south of Atlantic City) East coast of FL - pretty much anywhere Southern Chesapeake Bay Sebago Lake, ME And yeah, I've sailed in all those places (except Dillon). |

OK, I made a Google map of many of the suggestions and added some of my own. I also shared it and allowed anyone to add places and descriptions. Open the map, mark you favorite place and tells us all about it. I've shared a map with you called Sailing Lakes and Places: http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF&msa=0&msid=201940544710562089967.0004c4bbac994f53f2d24 |

Someone already put up a Google map with favorite sailing pin locations like that before, I know I put my 3 favorite spots on it. I can't find it right now though. |

I have kite-boarded at that lake for 7 years now ; it's Hot (113 in the shade), it's Dry as a desert ( it Is in a desert), 6-mile beach is a crowded nightmare on weekends ... but that lake Does have wind ((lots of it)) and all the carp are dead !!
