have a hobie day. again?

Seems like we've seen this once before, but it looks like the Hobie 33 is going back into production. Again. Spartan Marine in Dana Point, CA says they are going to make a couple of versions, with a complete class legal boat for $65k. Still a pretty cool boat... Get in touch with Robbie Roberson, owner of Spartan Marine (949) 661-8231.

in our Wed. night club racing series, for years there was a H33 that raced in another class. Since the elderly couple who ran the boat did not use a spinnaker, we could never tell how she would sail against the boats in our A1 division. A shame, since I would have loved to see it perform at its max potential.

I know the guy who bought (and still owns) the last Hobie 33 that Robbie built (about ~10 years ago). Lots of problems getting the boat completed and it took something like two years to get it done. Robbie was building it himself and living hand-to-mouth off the progress payments.
