Headed out there this Sunday, got a couple other boats coming along also, any one else interested is encouraged to come out and sail with us, the more the merrier. Just PM if you would like or just show up.

$15 for a day pass and boat launch pass, back your trailer directly into Lake Michigan no beach wheels required.
Hoping to have enough guys for a decent chill and cookout and what not.

Also any pointers, info, or warnings for sailing out of there? I haven't sailed there yet.

What time are you meeting Sunday? If I can get some one from home to go with me I might be able to come. Have you checked the wind and wave forecast?

Hey Jay,

We did get out, had a blast, sorry for not getting back to you in time, my weekend prior to weko on Sunday got pretty busy unexpectedly.

We had a pretty light forecast for Sunday so we were a little worried driving down that we would be just working on our sun tans the whole time.

The wind eventually came in and we had a pretty good time, I'd say it peaked out at about 8-10 knots so we weren't screaming at all but we had enough to have a good time still.

We got there at about 11, not a minute too early, by the time we rigged up and dropped the boats off, parking spots were limited, a couple guys had to detach from there trailers to park, VERY limited vehicle + boat trailer parking.
Next time I'd get there earlier, even if you have to wait for the wind to come you'll be able to park. Might even camp there next time.

Overall, pretty light for wind but we ran into a couple spots with 2 ft waves. Overall a VERY good time that we will be repeating. I'll post some photos when I get home tonight.
I'm going to PM you my info Jay, if you want to go sometime let me know, I'll try to make it, and hopefully bring a couple guys with me.

I know what you mean about getting busy, since I had not heard back and the wind was looking to be light I kayaked that day, paddled out of South haven and did 20 miles along the shore. I would like to sail out of Weko some time, its a nice beach and I wouldnt mind camping and sailing a few days . I was sailing up on Higgins lake last week, also a nice place with a good beach and ramp....Jay
