Long Beach is a good spot - Claremont ramp in Belmont Shore - very good winds this time of year! (and closer to your than Mission Bay) |

You can get pretty close to the water - but you need a set of beach wheels to make it to the water, you can't drive directly on the beach - The parking has a spot to pay cash or credit (I think it's $12 a day) There is free parking on the street, but never any available - just plan on paying - there are quarter lots too - but not that you can have a trailer in. |

Glad that it all worked out - we were sailing offshore on Saturday, it never really got all that windy - sounds like Sunday was a better day for you. |
