Was wondering what shipping costs people have seen for moving Hobie's and other large parts (single hulls, masts, etc.). I'm looking to ship a mast approx 950 miles up the east coast. I put a quote request out on uship but folks are sending me questions wanting a starting price. Any thoughts are appreciated.

Try air freight.

you might want to also try private car carriers. there is a lot of north-south traffic of people having their cars moved, plus their trailers can accomodate a long mast.
