Not sure where you are located but I've always ordered my parts thru backyardboats.com in Annapolis. Very easy to find what you are looking for on their site. Shipping pretty fast and reasonable too.

I've been ordering parts and accessories for several years from Mariner Sails, the Dallas Hobie dealer, http://www.mariner-sails.com/. If they receive your order by noon, it will typically be shipped out the same day via UPS. They carry an extensive Hobie parts inventory. The phone number is 1-800-536-9463. Aris Tsamis and John Webster are particularly knowlegable regarding all things Hobie. Another good deal: free shipping for military customers. I can't say enough good things about them. Outstanding customer service.

What country you are in makes a great deal of difference here. The import/export process varies considerably and the shipping options as well. Currency issues are also a concern. Some US companies deal well with those issues, and others don't want to be bothered. Shipping to England is a piece of cake; shipping to Myanmur is not.

The parts you want shouldn't be a problem for a company that deals with overseas customers. For an individual who doesn't deal with overseas transactions, they're going to be on a learning curve.

You need to say where you're looking to ship these parts to. With Hobie strong in Europe, North America, and Australia, it might be better for you to ship from one area then another.

Best of luck,

Jim Clark-Dawe

I've never had a bad experience with Murray's Watersports out of California. Reasonable pricing, fast shipping and a wide variety of OEM and after market parts....

I can't knock Murray's service and their inventory is huge. However, I think it's important to support the Hobie dealers that provide good service and support our fleets and evnts. The dealer network is essential to the continued growth of our sport. Murrays is not an authorized Hobie dealer and will never be able sell any of us a new Hobie Cat.

+1 on Backyard Boats - Those guys are great. They seem to keep very good stock on hand and ship quick.

Murray's is great for general sailing gear but can take forever if you are ordering genuine hobie parts.

EDIT: I want to clarify my original post. I've ordered from Murray's many times and highly recommend them. However, on two occasions this year I have ordered a Genuine hobie part (I don't think Murrary's is an official dealer) only to learn the part was on back order for several weeks. In both cases Murray's contacted me and offered me the option of a full refund, and I chose to wait for the part. I was only pointing to fact that I have had better turnaround ordering Hobie branded parts from Backyard Boats. No ill will intended toward Murray's - they are good folks.

I have never had murrays take a long time to ship hobie parts , I have had Hi Tempo in white bear lake take a long time, they are a hobie dealer and have a small inventory, so shop around.

I like to use Salty Dog Marine. The owner Don has helped me out since '85 ?
Always quick service with custom rigging. :D

But I do use Sailboat Inc. in Indianapolis as they are my local dealer. Strictly Sails in Cincinnati is an excellent dealer too.

THANKS for all your replies. I'm in Puerto Rico and its difficult explain to some US dealers that we are DOMESTIC SHIPPING by USPS. Not international like fedex or UPS. So I'm looking for someone who can send by USPS. I'm looking for really small parts.

(excuse my English ;)

What about BEACH CATS San Juan, PR 00913 1-787-220-8750 [email protected]? I've never dealt with them, but they are the dealer connected to Hobie.

I think there are a couple of shops in Florida that deal with the Caribbean, but I can't recall their names off the top of my head. But Florida businesses tend to deal well with the Caribbean compared to other locations.

I've got to agree that shipping to Puerto Rico seems to baffle people. Before the Post Office went all computer, I had a guy at the Post Office insisting I needed a customs declaration to ship there. Trying to explain to him that PR is part of the US seemed beyond his comprehension.

Ah, well, count your blessings you aren't in America Samoa.

Best of luck,

Jim Clark-Dawe

Mariner Sails (see my previous post) can ship via United States Postal Service.
