Can someone tell me what the roller skids on the traveller car are for?
Roller Skids...Not the bearing set...the bearing set is new on my traveller and does its function fine.
Are they ment to help the traveller roll well in low winds when the main sheat does not aply much tension on the traveller by leaning against the cross bar and rolling along it??

Either my traveller is not set up correctly or the roller skids are very worn...they seem to do nothing
When the traveller is not "pulled up by the main sheat" it rolls very badly...kind of scraping metal with metal (traveller car and x-bar)

Did you guys understand me? Is this normal or am I doing something wrong

Thanks

I'm not sure what your reffering too. The traveler has two plastic bearings, one round and the other is a longer solid tube shape. There are two rollers for the sheet line. The traveler moves on the bearings and nothing else. The rollers prevent the sheet from jambing in the traveler.

FWIW

The 18 traveler bearings are now both cylindrical.

As I said in my fist post i dont mean the teflon bearings i mean the parts described in this photo as roller skids

My traveller has them...but I cand understand their function? either they are useless or my ones are too worn down

Yes, the skids protect the extrusion when the car is not loaded with sheet tension.
