Got this idea from a buddy of mine...
1" sch40 PVC
Cost about 40$ for rope and pvc. Saving your hulls=priceless!

A buddy of mine just let me know he puts 1/2" pvc in between the rungs so they cant slide together. Going to try it as is but my take it apart and add those pieces if it is an issue. Another friend uses it just like mine is setup so I think it will work ok.

Have you tried those 1" pipes? My experience has been that 1" isn't big enough in sand. The guys here in my area suggesting using 2.5" to 3" pvc. The small diameter just gets pushed down into the ground or sand gets pushed up over them when they roll. I have 2" and it barely does me any good over just dragging it in the sand....
