As long as the fluttering didn't yank the whole thing out while you're driving... then you'd be even worse off than before! |

I thought about that but I tugged on my plugs and they are very snug....I'll keep an eye on them though thanks! |

I had also thought of putting one of these somewhere else on the boat that would make me remember to check the plugs. Then I wouldn't have to worry about the plugs pulling out. |

Or just keep the plugs in unless you're draining the boat. Also get in the habit of double checking before you launch. sm |

So it isn't really necessary to leave the plugs open? I always thought that it would help to keep the condensation down. It's a small hole so it probably doesn't make a difference.... |

Depending on if your boat has legit vents or not... you don't want the heat and cold of day and night to pressurize your hulls... |

First thing I do when I get to the Boat launch is go to the back of the boat and install the drain plugs, then install/connect the rudders, then untie the mast from the rear crossbeam, Girlfriend unties the front of the mast, then shroud/trapeze lines, I pull them back and untangle, climb on the tramp, she goes to the back and grabs the mast and we walk it back to stand, never changes, never will. Keeps us from getting tangled up and forgetting something. Oh Crap I did forget about getting a cold Beer...... Ok, let me start over... First thing I do is...... |

I've made a little choreography sheet to help use setup time better, and drain plugs are the crew's job. Probably should happen right before rudder installation. But the final walk-around before the boat goes down the ramp should cover them also. I don't think there's anything wrong with a tell-tail system like the OP mentioned but a heavy flapping streamer would make me nervous on the road since I'm going up to about 80MPH. EDIT: maybe a streamer that is connected to the gudgeon world work. That way you have to acknowledge the drain plug if you want to install the rudder. |

At times... mileage drops to about 30, though.  Normally do about 75. |
