| Post subject: | ASA instructor course questions. |
There is a course being offered locally to become a certifiable American Sailing Association Instructor. (the small boats course) To be perfectly honest until I learned about the course being available I didn't know much if anything about the ASA. Has anyone taken a course from an ASA instructor, or is anyone around here been awarded one certification or another from this group? I am just trying to figure out if this is something I should spend some money on gain that notch in the belt to help the fleet and our local sailing club? |

The only one I know about is the us sailing one. I'm doing it next year |

I've taken three courses (ASA 101, 103, and 104) from the sailing school in St Petersburg, FL. I wanted to get my bare boat certification. The instructor we had was great. He had 30+ years of experience. Learned a tremendous amount. It helped that we already knew how to sail, as he accelerated our courses so we could spend the majority of our time of the big boat.
