Noticed that the ball on which the mast rests on really squeeks. Anybody have a soultion |

Wrap the ball with plumber's Teflon tape before stepping the mast. It's not a permanent solution, but will last for a couple of days. Shooting it with silicone spray helps, too. |

A dab of wheel bearing grease smeared over the ball or around the inside of the mast step socket will solve the problem. sm |

The ball most likely squeeks due to the ball truning on the screw threads, not the ball to mast connection. Tighten the ball to the threaded rod and no squeeky. |

Possibly consider polishing the inside of the cup casting? |
