This was truly the first high wind day since June!!!!!!!!!! Talking about when the Weather Report show it to be over 10mph.

I have gone out to the club not expecting to sail, forcast was 3-5 and it was more like 8-10.

Got a nice surprise yesterday. It rained, Tried to go Mountainbiking, too wet, took off to the lake, wind was only showing to be about 6 mph, but it seamed like it was blowing harder than that. Got the boat rigged, it was pushing 10 mph....... Trapezed out flying hull (First time since I got a harness).......... 16.9 mph top speed, left the "Map my ride" app on my phone running!.

Warm weather here, but not much in the way of winds this past weekend. When I came into the harbor on Saturday, I had to do the last little bit of the channel using the paddle.

Day 50 And Still No Wind.......................... There has been some wind. But never when I am about to get out there!!!!!!!!!!!
Was suppose to blow 10-12 on friday. We were cooking Ribs and Butts for the 4th. Got everything going good and got to the point where we could go play.......... Wind died.............. The 4th had negative numbers until about 5 when we were sitting down to eat................... Was so tempting.

I've just gotten hooked on sailing this year. Every day I watch the leaves, check the weather and open Windfinder Pro app several times each day. It's the first time I've noticed almost no wind! If this is "normal" I'm moving to where there's wind. Is this an abnormal summer?

Have actually had a few decent days. Just had surgery friday. Won't be able to get out til October. At least the winds should be good by then.

There's another app out there called "SailFlow" that I've had a lot of success with. There are different wind models to choose from, some more accurate than others. In my area, the "WRAMS 8km - Great Lakes" model is fantastic, but only predicts the next 36 hours or so.

sxrracer, that's awful! Best of luck in your recovery, I sure hope your wind returns by then!
