Hi everyone. We got an old H16 this year and LOVE it !
Can't believe how it just takes off on any little puff.
Don't quite yet have the courage yet to hold the main sheet in when
the windward hull starts to fly. Will take time.
Anyway I watched the promo video on the website and was shocked to
see them drop the tiller in the water during a tack, and pick it up on the other side.
Why did no one tell me this secret? Its so much easier than passing it around the main tackle.
There should be an utube video on how to ....

Anyway, I also saw on the video that at times, they raise the windward rudder, especially when
flying a hull. Is there much advantage to this?

Hi Pat, congrats on your new Hobie. The rudder thing is discussed in several topics - here is a good one: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=49058&p=219494&hilit=rudder#p219494

The raised rudder is used by top racers to gain the last little advantage. Don't worry about it until you are in "A" fleet. Even then, wait till you are nearing the top of that fleet. Much more important things to learn first.
