hogwldfltr - Please let us know how the Intensity Sails work out for you.
I remember that thread about the Intensity Sails on these forums about a year ago. I discussed it with other friends who I've known and trusted for many years at out Fleet Four Christmas Party last year. I was told that they should work just fine. The main should be about the same, but no grommets for reefing. The jib might have been cut a little differently than your old jib, but should still work just fine.
The sails on my 1979 Hobie 16 have been re-worked by a sail repair shop several times in the past and needed some work done on them again. The cost of new sails for the Intensity sails was very tempting and I was all set to order them following that Christmas Party last year, but then my wife said that she would miss that red panel and those large red sail numbers on our old sails. So, I brought my old sails to our Hobie Dealer and he sent them out for repair again. Both my main and jib are in great shape again, but I've always wondered how things might've been if I had ordered a brand new set of sails from Intensity Sails.
I don't know where you live or if you're able to try out those new Intensity Sails before next spring or summer, but please let us all know about your experience as soon as you're tried them. Thanks!
