"pleasure sailing" (3) times
"racing", "races" (7) times
also the "what a rush" and "bombing around" were used. Hey, hey guys, don't get your adrenaline levels up too much, you might pull a muscle.

You guys are animals.

By Pleasure sailing, I for one ment sailing hard and fast for fun, not just kind of bobing around in light winds aka zen sailing. Although, "zen sailing" real early in the morning is not horable either.

My dad and I take out our Getawy in conditions that scare the bejesus out of us....I sailed my Getaway a lot this summer by myself, its the first sailboat we've ever owned.....surprisingly I weigh only 145lb..and i find it plenty to get it righted....with my dad onboard we right it instantly he weighs about 225 and as soon as he leans back boom we're righted!

I guess we got pretty confident this summer....but not TOO confident. We know our limits...but we do push them. I'm just waiting on buying a tramp harness cause I cant afford one right now!

That's a H21SE not SC. The difference? More sail, more beam, less weight, which all ads up to... Why, speed, and lots of it, of course.

In my book "pleasure sailing" on a Hobie is redundant and "sport cruiser" is a contradiction. Sailing a Hobie to its fullest recreational potential is the most fun I can have with my clothes on.

Improvements? How about legislation making cat sailing the national religion?

You're supposed to wear clothes :?:

Up here we had an informal club, a gathering of drinkers with a small sailing problem. With apologies to my LDS friends and brothers, we called our club the Church of the Latter Day Sailors - the Morons

Be sure to send all your money to me and you will be saved

Speaking of a religion, my room and garage is beginning to look like a shrine.

I have boat parts all over in the garage and I regularly light a fire in the fire place out there. Then my room... well lets just says I keep all my extra ropes and stuff hanging on the walls and the sails rolled up by my bed. Add a few candles and there you have it a shrine.

Someone said something about keeping your cloths on, when did we start doing this?

I'm starting a new poll/thread about this... I want to know...

I can't wait to get the trapeze harnesses on and do some mad hiking out on my cat, I hope it really does add a new level to my experience, not that I need another level, but more fun is always better, right?

I have a Hobie 18 that I race for fun. I put a spinnaker on it for the long distance races. I have now added wings and plan on cruising more, especially if I can keep it on the lake next year with the mast up & the spin pole/snuffer on.

I love the wings for cruising Lake Michigan but haven't figured out the racing part with them on so I just take them off.

Say Beachboy,

Where in Mass are you. I used to live in Framinghan. Left there when I was nine.

Happy Sailing,

David

I just recently ended a 30 year stint in Massachusetts, most of it on Cape Cod.

Moved to the tropics 14 months ago. Havent looked back.

New England never felt like home to a native Texan even after 30 years there. Felt home here the first time I put on a mask and dove in.
