Water in hulls during storage

I am new to sailing and bought a used "76" Cat this summer.I have cleaned it up but have not had time to put it in the water.I had it sitting on a pad at towing level with a 12 ft tarp over the mast covering the mid ship and vented covers in the hull access.When I went to move it and raised the trailer tow bar about 2 gallons of water came out of each hull.The hulls are solid,could this be from condisation? Any ideas ? In the mean time I have raised the tow bar to allow any water to escape during winter storage. Thank`s Patrick

Condensation may occur if there was a temperature differential between the inner and outer parts of the hull especially the pylons. I seriously doubt that two gallons would result. Did you ever check the boat for water when you first bought it?

I'd double-check the vents for leakage and get a larger tarp that will cover the entire boat.

What cat do you have? If it has port holes then it is most likely an 18. If so chances are the water is coming in thru the port holes, a '75 would have the rope handle caps which leak water horribly.
