Tomorrow is the annual Summer Sailstice. I've made it a point to sail annually in the summer sailstice for the past decade or so. This year I've even "sponsored" the "Carquinez Sailstice" which is just a sail around the three marinas in the Carquinez straits. It's the longest day of the year, c'mon out and celebrate.

That was FUN ; sailing vicariously with you !!
With a bit more notice , i could have bin there . Turns out that
a girl from your aria , had invited me to go Hang gliding with her
at Fort Funston ; so i had a place to stay. I fly a Lot !

Maybe next year, i can tow my Hobie 21se from Las Vegas ; along
with my Hang glider , and make a week of Fun out of it ?

I wouldn't bring Kite board equipment ; i only kite in lakes, where
i'm the Top of the Food-Chain !! --------------- :D

LOTs of Kite boarders in the Carquinez since the wind is typically predictably in the 15-25 kt zone...OTOH, there isn't much of a beach and it is MUCH BETTER to launch kite near the water and not on the cliff (couple times a year someone doesn't do that and we air lift them to hospital). Of course, if you prefer not to tow up here, you are welcome to sail with me on my (much more sedate than 21SE) Getaway. There are also some hang gliding folks but they mostly stick to the hills near Vallejo for the updrafts. I'm still learning the Getaway, but so far have found her to be predictable which is a good thing with any boat in my experience.

I'll be towing my Hobie-21 ; i'll also toss the Hang glider on the boat for
a few flights in your aria. The kite boarding equipment will stay home.

Lots of people i kite board with ; they just can't understand why i'd go out on a
catamaran, when i could be boarding instead . They don't get it ; i like sailing , exactly
as much as i like to kite board. Now Flying a HG , is a different story.

You'll get a kick out of this shot of me in USA today :

http://www.usatoday.com/story/your-take ... 29357882=1

The back story is that i went in 1/2 with a friend , on a Hobie 20 .
We had the Main reefed down to the size of a Hobie 16, with no jib.
The wind at Mohave was blowing near 35-mph that day , and a gust hit us
at the south end of the lake ; it took out the main , (turned it into rags).

We stowed the main and limped back 13 miles to Cottonwood cove, with
just the jib. The wind backed off so much , that i got board, and hooked into
the wire, just for fun . Notice there ain't any white-caps in the shot !!

Anyway ; i plan to join Ya , Next year ; if that's Cool ?

Be great to see you. I plan on making the Carquinez Sailstice an annual part of the worldwide Summer Sailstice.
