Someone posted this on the VW forum I frequent. I thought it was pretty cool. Did anyone on here ever own one?

The dealer in Pinckney, MI (knida near Ann Arbor) has a set of the graphics for sale if you really want them.

They're vinyl stickers.

Send Michael Ehnis an e-mail at mehnis(at)chartermi.net. Tell him his Tiger skipper sent you.

I still enjoy driving my '65 Bug AND my 1976 VW Bus. Now you've got me wondering if I can adapt your friend's dealer graphics to my bus - or were they made just for the Vanagon?

Next time you see him, ask how much he's asking for those Hobie graphics. I'm about ready for a paint job on the Bus, and maybe I should go "all out" and do 'er right with a retro look...

Nice G60! Are those Borbet flat caps? My friend Steve has an SLC with the same wheels. Rockin.

I've got a 1998 Silver Arrow GLX. One owner car from WI, just picked it up last Saturday! :)

Is this the kind of Hobie Van you were talkin' about?

This is what I thought you were talkin' about, when you mentioned "Hobie Van"...

This "Hobie Van" was auctioned on eBay a few years ago. There was the front graphic (left image), and then the larger graphics on each side toward the rear panel.

Nice find! And yes, they are Borbet Type A's with flat caps... unfortunately, I lost 2 of them in a very poorly marked construction zone this fall... and I decided to go a different route. The 16x9's are hard to deal with on a car that I drive daily. I love them though, so I may buy a set in the future just for show use. Are your buddies 16x7.5? They look a little more narrow. Probably a lot more easy to deal with! My new rims are 16x7.5... so I can lower it some more. :)

No, I think he's got the 9"'s as well... I know his tires are stretched a bit.

Thanks "MBounds" - I called Michael (he was out of town); agreed on a sale (with his service manager); and the Hobie VW graphics arrived today.

They look great (for being 20 years old!). Now I have incentive to restore my '76 VW Bus.

Thanks for passing along the information!

I live in Los Gatos, California, and about three times in the last two weeks Ive seen it parked at local shopping centers, and once driving around town. And I had never seen it before. It is amazing. The same white VW van, the same rainbow stripe and hobie cat graphics. I love it. Wouldnt look too good on a corolla though.
