There are a number of products that work - silicone spray, teflon spray (TDL), SailKote. They all have one thing in common - they're dry and don't attract dirt.

The original Hobie manual suggested a block of paraffin wax be used on the bolt rope, but with the newer teflon-impregnated bolt ropes on the sails, that's become a bit quaint. Paraffin will attract dirt, too.
