Only very experienced beach catamaran sailors would venture into the open ocean on a trip like that. I've sailed in those waters on a 44' cat and a 38' cat, and I suggest if you are going ahead, you plan very carefully, with plenty of back up. VHF radios, EPIRB's, even a chase boat, and advise folks ashore of your ETD and ETA.
A H18 or the Pacifica would be much more suitable.
If you get separated from the Hobie during a capsize, your next stop is either St Croix or Puerto Rico!
