I think you're allowed to sail with them but you're not allowed to use them for weight purposes to help you reach the minimum class racing weight.

To clarify Greg's response, you can't WEAR a camel back, but you could carry it on the boat.

Wearing a camel back is the same as wearing a weight jacket. They're both illegal for racing.

if were not allowed to use a camal pack could you suggest a way we could carry our water that is easaly assesable for rough wether as we have tried in our hull but the water comes in when the weather is rough :?:

I'd suggest putting it on the trampoline, right behind the mast. You could even mount it below the trampoline and run the drinking tube through the lacing so you wouldn't accidentally kneel on the camel pack.

It's not perfect, and you certainly couldn't drink from the wire, but it's the way most of us carry drinking water on the boat (although it's usually in bottles).

There is an excellent thread at the Catsailor.com site.

Here is the address

http://www.catsailor.com/forums/showfla ... o=&fpart=1

It covers this subject very well, but make sure you read the whole thread.

This subject is quite contentious for some.
