Our first fleet regatta. We'll be on the mighty Mississippi June 9-10 in Lake City Minnesota. A Hobie Sanctioned points event, and we'll have classes for 20, 16A, 16B, 14.

More info about the event is on our web page at www.fleet444.com

We have a great campground, and a short walk to a really nice beach.
Lake City Mn, is two miles to the south of the campground with plenty of resturants, and dining opportunities.

Please let me know if you are intending on attending this event.
Thanks

If you are interested in checking out the regatta site before the event, join Hobie Fleet 444 for the Spring Tune-Up fun sail on Sat, May 19th. Check the Fleet 444 website for additional details.

Looking forward to a strong turnout for this inaugural Fleet 444 regatta and first Division 7 event of the 2007 season.

See ya there,

First, what is the difference between A & B. Second, what do I need to do if I want to race?

Again, the 14's are the largest fleet so far.

Damn, now you've got me thinking about this. Computer says 658 miles - that's 200 miles less than I drove to Kansas for John's regatta.

It's even shorter if I take the ferry from Muskegon-Milwaukee, but that's kinda expensive, especially for the trailer.

Yeah Matt! Come on over. We'll probably have good number of 14's. Div 7 really stocked up on 14's for nationals last year, and again in 08'. We really have an awesome venue for this regatta. Camping is 100yds from the very nice beach.

Tamarak- If you haven't done much racing you'll want to be in B fleet. It's just for the more inexperienced. This will be my first regatta doing A fleet and I know I'm going to get murdered on the water. What do you need to race? A comp-tip, Hobie tramp+sails, and a non-conducting tiller extension. Those are the major issues for complying with the Hobie one design events. If you haven't raced a Hobie sanctioned event before you can slide one time with a regular mast.

If I'm wrong on any points please correct me!

The other option Matt is bring your 16 and I can provide you with a 100 lb gymnast as crew. She is now known as a rock star after having her picture in Sail Magazine

If you're in the area you need to come to this. Weather is looking good for the weekend.

Holy crap! I'm going to be in minneapolis that weekend for a VW show... wish I could pull my H16 behind the Corrado... and I'd be there too! I'm not class legal because of my non-comptip.. but it would have been cool to hang out and learn more about my hobie.

If you've seen one mint 81 Rabbit you've seen em all. Slap a hitch on the Corrado and head over with a boat.

Does yours have the spoiler that lifts off the rear deck when you hit 50? I test drove one once thought it was pretty cool.
