I spoke with Steve Fields of Hobie on the phone and he said it should be OK to post this:I'm helping the student-run sailing club at the University of Washington (UW) advocate for their survival in light of plans to demolish their small boat facilities while increasing exclusive paid access for large motor yachts & cruise ships during football games & private events.
The plans (see below) will replace current infrastructure with inadequate facilities which will reduce equity, diversity, inclusion, and access, especially for novice student sailors at the campus waterfront.
If you would like to
help preserve affordable sailing at UW, we are asking for anyone and everyone to
leave a public comment BY FEB 9TH on the project, using either of these methods:
