You all could take a snow break and come to Spring Fever! http://www.twinhulls.com/springfever2008/index.html
There are 83 boats already pre-registered and it is 3 days of sailing!

Just a thought :)

Spring Fever is a GREAT Event, been there, done that 4 times.

and then, as long as you have already traveled that far south, why not spend a week, get a twofer, and trip on down to Panama City Florida for some salt water sailing at the Mid Winter's East.

Especially if you have a Hobie 18. Looks like we are going to have a Fleet of 18's this year.

Yes, the birds are singing around here as well. However cardinals, bluejays, and woodpeckers stay around here the year around. I see them at my feeders all the time. Now... when I see the first robin, then I know spring is just around the corner. That usually occurs during the first week of March which is now. However with 5" of snow on the ground, I wouldn't blame them for showing up late.

Update:
rjack really had me scared there...until today. Drove around the corner to pull in the driveway and Robins were everywhere! Must have been two dozen, fat ones. Took Esther (the wonder dog) outside and she spotted a chipmunk, I didn't see it, but she doesn't abandon her tennis ball for just anything. So there you have it, everything progressing right on schedule.
:D

The geese on the Chesapeake have assembled into large V's , are high up and headed NORTH ... the lakes in southeastern Pennsyvania are almost empty also. And we do have Robins ....

Friggin' geese. You can keep 'em.

There's another name for them here - flying dogs.

My properties spend $1,000's of dollars a year to keep them from pooping all over the place. They're the reason a lot of beaches around here get closed for e. coli contamination. Every time it rains, their crap washes into the lakes.

John- I just registered for the slipknot regatta. Bravo! I was wondering when I had to click a box for boat type if I was going to be included.
Thank you.

Thank you.

We were thinking expressly of you and your twin brother Karl, who also registered.
Man...there's a lot of FX Ones around!

Also, I'm Frayed the name of the regatta is Knot slipknot. If Mr. Wessels and yourself do Knot refrain from using "slipsnot" I'm Frayed we'll have to give y'all a D14 a$$whooping on the race course. Otherwise we'll just beat you

Did I register twice? My left click on the mouse is getting worn out. Wonder if it double tapped accidentaly? I didn't do it intentionally if thats the case. Or..... is there something I'm missing here?

Yes...I'm aFrayed that your mouse is Knot long for this world, as you've registered twice. Knot to worry though, as soon you'll be sailing, instead of stuck in front of the computer 8)

We'll get site admin right on it...Clean up on aisle two!!

It's not exactly WARM here, but it was mid 60's and doable so I was sailing my WAVE out of Dana Point on Sunday. Pretty fun day.

Winds were 10 -15, constant and unshifting, seas were 5 - 7, choppy with plenty of icy bullets stinging my face. A huge pod of Dolphin were trekking south so I joined them for a bit.

I tried to get up on some whales as they are on the move as well, but didn't manage that.

At least I get to get out even though my teeth will chatter from time to time. Sorry you guys have been land locked. I hope it breaks soon for y'all.
