I'd like to add a screacher/hooter to my H21SE, a sail I can use to beat, reach and run on a rolling furler.
I know the 21SC came with a gennaker, I don't think it could sail to windward and I would like to get the ability to close haul in light air as well as reach and finally get rid of my cumbersome spin which I rarely use.
Question is, can it work rigged from the forward bow tangs instead of using a pole. This is a crusing boat so ease of use is more important than outright performance.
My main goal is to eliminate the spin and have a sail I can easily furl off a roller. I can do a pole if I need to but would rather not.
Any thoughts or experience would be appreciated.

You might ask Rick over at catsailor.com as he did a hooter conversion for the Wave and has tons of experience. I'll bet he could help out.
