First... we never offered wings for the Hobie 20. You sure?

If it is indeed a Hobie 20, The carpet kit is designed to hold the board at the top so you have a tight fit and can hold the board in different positions. This is difficult to install properly.

I suggest the best thing is the Positive Hold System that we came up with in later production years. 40330101 DAGGERBOARD POS HOLDING SYSTEM. This is a bungee and padded roller system to pull the board inboard wedging it in whatever position you want.

The neoprene is used at the aft edge of the bottom of the well strictly to help prevent chipping the board.

So Matt, would it be a good thing to order the upper dagger well carpet kit even though there is a dagger board Positive hold kit available as well? Thank you for your reply.

here is my H20 magnum!!

No need for both kits. I assume there is some carpet in the well, it just doesn't hold the board up?

Nice adaptation of the H18 Magnum wings!

I was in the same boat. My H20 came with worn carpet. I left the carpet as is but ordered the roller and bungee system that Matt mentioned. It works great. However, the kit came with a pair of shackeles and strings to tie to them. I never saw the need for them. Would anyone care to comment on their usefulness?

I bouhgt a piece of Indooor & Outdoor carpet @ Home Depot 3 years ago and now once a year I cut out pieces from it and glue it in a dagger board well. And it works great.

As I recall, one end of the roller line needs to be routed to the shroud to keep it square with the the board when the board is down. The shackle attaches to the shroud adjuster to tie it off. Its shown in the manual: http://www.hobiecat.com/support/pdfs/H20Manual.pdf
