So I decided on a permanent solution .... as I really don't think the PA is suitable for safe one person operation on a roof rack.

Sweet Trailer, I am sure you will like that way better than the roof racks anyway.

Recommendation, get a hold of some cradles and mount them on your trailer so that you don't damage the bottom of the PA hull... PS: nice rig!!!

Its fully supported by proper skeds .... the trailer is designed for the PA.

You can see the back end of the padded skegs in this pic (they are bent down to facilitate loading and unloading). They extend the halfway up the length of the hull either side of the keel and at the front there is another set plus a rubber roller. Its a real boat trailer designed especially to support the PA Hull.
