Hello

After much anticipation and a long wait, I just received my sail kit for my i14T. Unfortunately, once I was at the lake, I realized that there were no stays included in the kit -- only a two part mast with a bungee-like oval cord near the base, the sail, the mainsheet and the sail kit packing "sleeve". Despite the invoice of my order stating that this was the i9/12/14 sailing kit, I think I received the regular mirage sailing kit by error? What are the differences between the two kits so that I can defend my situation, if need be, with the seller? It would be a lot of help if Hobie would provide a video or more explanation than just one sheet with a rough drawing. I had no way of knowing, from the instructions included, why the sail kit I received was not working with my boat.

From a happy pedaler & paddler but disappointed sailor :? (until the receive the correct sail kit).

That is the big difference between the sail kits. The "i" version has the stays which attach to a sewn on loop 3/4 up the mast.

I believe the mast is shorter on the "i" series as well and is a 3 or 4 part fold for compactness traveling. So both mast and sail are both different -- they can't just substitute the sail. 8)

Hopefully the seller swap it out for you. If not, I converted my outback sail to fit my i12. I had someone at an embroidary shop sew on the loop using some strap material.

Thank you for your responses. I am happy to say that Austin Kayak (the internet wholesaler whom I bought the sails from) acknowledged their error and have sent me the correct sails, along with an apology (which is appreciated) ! I can't wait to try out the sailing experience. I am loving the pedaling & paddling!
